High-Speed Rail Tunnel Construction, Asia
Products:ACETex® NW DPF
Application: Road Widening
-
Background
-
To bridge the distance between cities, enhance regional transportation convenience, and boost the tourism economy, the development of high-speed rail tunnels is instrumental. Such tunnels not only improve connectivity across regions but also divert some of the vehicular traffic. This diversion reduces road pressure and alleviates congestion issues, further fostering collaboration and development between various areas.

Problem / Task
-
In tunnel engineering, drainage is paramount. Proper drainage not only maintains a tunnel's structural integrity but also protects against the perils of water accumulation. It prevents materials from corroding, keeps roadways free from slip hazards, and in colder climates, averts ice formation. Moreover, efficient drainage safeguards electrical systems and minimizes maintenance needs, ensuring the tunnel's longevity.
-
Solution/ Design & Construction
-
Selecting the right materials becomes essential to realize these benefits. Nonwoven fabrics, especially ACETex® DPF nonwoven geotextile made from PP continuous filament yarn, play a crucial role. Positioned between the concrete and waterproofing layers, ACETex® DPF protects tunnel structural panels while adeptly filtering impurities. With its high alkali resistance, the fabric ensures persistent drainage capabilities, even with extended exposure to cement. Additionally, ACETex® DPF acts as an isolation barrier, effectively preventing soil particle infiltration from the tunnel's exterior and reinforcing its stability. Such a feature ensures the continuous usability and safety of the tunnels.
-
Result
-
The project's successful results suggest that ACETex® DPF provides effective performance tailored to the project's needs. Such materials enhance the tunnel's durability and safety while potentially reducing maintenance costs, adding to the project's reliability and economic efficiency.
